Thunder win Game 2 behind Durant, Harden
Staff report (Sporting News) ![]() 06:39:12AM (DST) Friday,May 20,2011. The Oklahoma City Thunder evened the NBA's Western Conference finals Thursday night, beating the Dallas Mavericks, 106-100, in Game 2. OKC overcame a Game 1 defeat that saw Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki score 48 points. Instead of putting on their own one-man show Thursday, the Thunder used big games from leader Kevin Durant and sixth man James Harden. Durant steadied the Thunder throughout as point guard Russell Westbrook struggled for a second straight game. Durant led the Thunder with 24, while Harden had 23 off the bench. Westbrook had 18 points but was benched in the fourth quarter. “They outplayed us in every part of the game,” Mavericks guard J.J. Barea told the Dallas Morning News. “They had more energy, their bench played better, they made more shots. So give them credit.” Unlike other games, the speedy Westbrook did not finish for Oklahoma City. Coach Scott Brooks instead elected to stick with backup Eric Maynor, who provided a spark with 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting ![]() More-->Thunder win Game 2 behind Durant, Harden - NBA - Sporting News --------------------------------------------------------------- * Game 2 puts the letter "X" in excitement... *
