Fiat chief: new group can produce 6 million cars a year with Fiat/Chrysler alliance
(AP) 05:53:53 AM (ET), Wednesday, September 16, 2009 (FRANKFURT) Fiat and Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne says the new auto alliance can reach a production of 5.5 million to 6 million cars a year. Marchionne told reporters at the Frankfurt Auto Show that key figure can be reached once the global economic crisis eases. He considers 6 million cars a year critical for an automaker's survival. Marchionne said Wednesday that Chrysler's new business plan won't be released until November, and declined to discuss the forthcoming model lineup. * My aunt had a fiat 10 years ago.She said it was a smooth running car ! This maybe a good shot-in-the-arm for Chrysler. *
