North Carolina State forward C.J. Leslie has apologized for comments about gay athletes he made on Twitter earlier this week, according to the Raleigh News & Observer.

Leslie, a McDonald’s All-American in 2010, was reportedly watching an ESPN program on gay athletes when he took to Twitter to say: "I'm no anti gay But I would rather not have a gay n the locker room.” He then made a follow-up tweet: "I'm not saying I hate gays but that's sumthing that I would not wnt n my locker room ..."

Both comments have been deleted from Leslie’s Twitter account and new Wolfpack coach Mark Gottfried has spoken with the rising sophomore, according to the newspaper.

N.C. State assistant athletic director for media relations Annabelle Myers responded to the News & Observer by saying: “Any student has the right to express his or her personal opinion, but those comments certainly don't reflect the diverse and welcoming atmosphere at N.C. State. Our student-athletes are reminded and encouraged to be circumspect in what they say, post or tweet."

The 6-foot-8 Leslie averaged 11 points and a team-best 7.2 rebounds as a freshman last season. He elected to stay in school and not enter the NBA draft.

* ...What's with these basketball players being so homophobic ???
Is it because of their game such as the uniforms ?
How their bodies are build ?
Are they really attractive that there is a fear of being hit on...ouch ?
Believed one of the NBA stars made a lewd gay comment as reference earlier last week.
No matter professional, college or any level...use your head before speaking, not the game.

May I add some relevance on celebs or any professional as well along with you and I. *
